COVID-19 Updates

Screening Checklists

September 15, 2021 UPDATE:

In addition to adhering to all provincial guidelines (www.alberta.ca/BizConnect) we have also adopted the guidelines set by the Alberta Gymnastics Federation in their COVID-19 Return to Play Guidelines (www.abgym.ab.ca).

Current Health & Safety Policies

Session Screening Checklists will be completed prior to class for all our athletes, parent participants and spectators. The digital form can be found
here. Please choose the correct form.

Frequent hand washing and sanitizing are mandatory, including hand sanitizing upon entering and leaving the building.

All common spaces will be cleaned and fully sanitized at the end of every night. High touch surfaces will be cleaned and sanitized periodically throughout the day.

Masks will be worn by all coaches and staff. Masks are not required for participating athletes in the training area but must be worn in the lobby at all times. Parents in Wee 1’s or Parent & Tot classes must be masked at all times.

We ask that any athlete who is exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms do not attend class. Please stay home and self-isolate if you are exhibiting any of the following symptoms: Cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, fever

Physical distancing is encouraged for each class in the training area.

For the safety of our participants, there will be no viewing allowed for the Fall Session other than Wee 1’s, Parent & Tot and Gym Bug classes. All spectators must remain masked and maintain physical distancing in the facility.  Please limit the number of spectators from one household.

No gathering of individuals in any part of the facility. Please enter and exit the facility promptly.

Recreational Classes

Being early is necessary the first day so we can complete all the necessary requirements prior to the start of class so this does not cut into training time.

All participants will be asked to hand sanitize upon entering the building.

A COVID-19 Session Screening Checklist must be completed for each athlete, parent participant and spectator before or immediately after entering the building. There will be scanning code available on the windows or inside the building.

Please place your belongings in one of the red cubbies and proceed to a square on the lobby floor. A coach will call your class name/time. If you are unsure, please ask one of the coaches if your child is in their group.

We ask that parents keep out of the taped yellow area and allow only participants go past this point.

A coach will have an individualized baggy for each participant to place their mask into until the end of the class when it will be returned to you.

All participants must exit through the marked door closest to Hughes Carwash.

Birthday Parties

Please have all guests arrive 15 minutes before the start of your party time. This will ensure enough time to complete all the necessary paperwork- waivers, daily screening, and child registry form.

All guests must sanitize their hands upon entry to the building.

Any belongings can be placed in one of the red cubbies downstairs.

Please be courteous of other party goers who may be coming in after your slotted time. We kindly ask that you try to have everyone out of the building within ten minutes of the end of your party.

Masks do not need to be worn by participants in our party room upstairs.

We will supply the cutlery, plates, napkins etc. for eating.

A special thank you gift will be given to each attendee at the birthday party.

Door to party room does not need to be closed but if you choose to leave the upstairs you will be required to have a mask on.

Protocols

In the event that an athlete shows signs or symptoms related to Covid-19, the following precautions will be taken:

  • The athlete will be isolated to a closed room with a coach.
  • We will call the parent of the athlete to come pick them up.
  • A negative COVID-19 test will be required before returning to class.

Classes missed due to COVID-19

Each case will be dealt with on a case by case basis. If your child misses any classes due to a COVID-19 concern, please contact our Recreational Program Coordinator by email at rec@leducgymnastics.com.
